Visit Grand Prairie wrote in a Facebook post that Blanco was signing autographs, handing out posters, and even serving up free snow cones to residents in the city. A representative for Visit Grand Prairie told MySA that Blanco, a producer and songwriter known for songs like "Diamonds" by Rihanna and "Teenage Dream" by Katy Perry, was the only one spotted but believed Gomez could have been close by.
Residents commented on the Facebook post, calling the visit sweet. Vero Monte wrote, "This was sweet of him to visit one of Selena’s favorite childhood places." Marie Lu added, "I'm not gonna lie I’m a Benny blanco fan now cuz of how sweet he is to Selena."

During his visit, Blanco signed autographs and served free snow cones, according to a Visit Grand Prairie Facebook post.
Tastee Ice’s Irving Instagram page wrote on its story, “Thank you to everyone who came out and experienced this,” referring to the Grand Prairie store as the “OG location.”
Giselle Mata, an employee at Tastee Ice, said a representative from Blanco’s management team approached the store’s owner to place a large order the day before the event.
It wasn’t until Blanco posted online that Mata realized he was coming.
“It doesn’t really get that busy ever,” she said of the store, estimating 600 people attended the event.
Blanco paid for a majority of the crowd’s treats and ordered pickle juice-flavored snow cones, which are Gomez’s favorite, Mata said.
At one point, Blanco came into the snow cone stand to introduce himself to the staff. “He was mentioning Selena and how he wanted to make her happy. He knows that she always talks about the snow cones, so he wanted to make sure she had them.”
In 2018, Gomez revisited her childhood home in Grand Prairie, where she lived up until the age of 13. “I visit this place every chance I get,” she wrote then on Instagram. She also spent time in her hometown for her 2022 documentary, My Mind and Me, which chronicled her battle with lupus and mental health struggles amid the national limelight.
Blanco’s pop-up appeared to be a promo for the couple’s joint album, I Said I Love You First, which comes out March 21.
In the leadup to the release, Gomez has announced a #12DaysofReallyRareStuff campaign.
“Since my new album with Benny I Said I Love You First is about our past, present and future, I thought it would be fun to give away some rare memories” she said in a March 9 Instagram video.
Gomez and Blanco announced their engagement in December, a year after they confirmed their relationship.
Along the walk down memory lane, the couple recently had curry shrimp at the Thai restaurant in Los Angeles where they had their first date.
The food spot is located on Sunset Boulevard, which is also the name of a single on their upcoming album.

Based on a report from an outside investigation, he violated the district’s discrimination, harassment, and retaliation policy.

Community members have called on trustees to release the report on Arredondo from the outside investigation.
"I want to know what happened, not just for myself but for the GPISD family because it looks like we’re hiding something," said Maggie Walters, a Grand Prairie resident. "If you're going to sever ties with the superintendent, we need to know why."
"Transparency is being completely obliterated. A yes vote means the public will never know the terms or see the results of the investigation," said former State Rep. Rodney Anderson. "This third party report based on 40+ witness interviews and 2+ hour interview with the former superintendent had findings so serious that five members of this board voted to place him on leave. If those votes have changed, the public needs to know why."

Concerned parents in Grand Prairie are calling for transparency after the district’s superintendent was placed on leave. He’s under investigation, but only trustees know why.
Trustee Emily Liles said the district has no issue releasing the report with staff names redacted, but she said Arredondo asked that it remain sealed.
"Due process for the superintendent doesn’t happen and the financial details of the settlement agreement will remain hidden from the community. This goes against everything this board has worked for and everything that I stand for," Liles said.
