Trial

It's Science, Not Trial and Error

Our cherished bulldog, Bruiser, was a unique boy. He stood out from other dogs. Like Bruiser, IrresistiBulls stands out from other breeders because we base our breeding practices on science and careful consideration.

Our goal isn't just about selling English bulldog puppies. It's to ensure that every puppy we breed excels in health, temperament, intelligence, and obedience. We don't rely on trial and error, which often yields more errors than successes. Extensive research underpins our methods to guarantee the best possible outcomes. Our dedication extends not only to the families welcoming our puppies into their homes but also to the well-being and quality of life of the puppies themselves. That's the IrresistiBulls difference.

Sire

Sire and Dams Bred for Excellence

When it comes to longevity, health, temperament, and intelligence, it all starts with the dam and sire. That's why our English bulldog sires and dams are carefully selected for their excellence, champion bloodlines, and genetic traits. We're not your run-of-the-mill English bulldog breeders in South Carolina; we've perfected our method. We genuinely care and view every puppy we bring into the world as a part of our extended family. Each one of our dogs is truly the "cream of the crop," guaranteed to pass on greatness to their offspring.

Around

World-Class Bulldog Lineage from Around the World

We meticulously breed for highly coveted traits and take proactive measures to limit traits that can lead to health conditions in your puppy. Our efforts have successfully eliminated issues such as corkscrew tails and narrow nares, ensuring a worry-free experience for our puppies and their new families.

An Improved Process of Breeding Purebred English Bulldog Puppies for Sale in Lafayette, LA

Breeding any dog, especially English bulldogs, poses health concerns. We make every effort to breed English bulldogs with the desirable genetic traits while working to eliminate those that could result in health problems. The key is to avoid breeding puppies that are closely related and could potentially have genetic abnormalities.

Unfortunately, some breeders are either irresponsible or lack an understanding of the complexities involved in producing healthy English bulldog lines. We only breed dogs with the best-quality lineages and never take unnecessary risks by breeding dogs with overly similar ancestry. This approach safeguards not only our business but also the well-being of the puppies and the families who welcome them into their homes.

Buying English bulldog puppies for sale in Lafayette, LA is a joyful and exciting experience. Whether you're a single pup parent or have a family with children, you'll love your new bulldogs' affectionate, loyal nature and will laugh out loud at their quirky attitude. However, bringing a bulldog puppy home necessitates careful forethought and organization to guarantee a seamless adjustment for both you and your new furry pal. Keep these essential tips in mind when it's time to bring your bulldog puppy to your den.

Safe Space

Create a Safe Space

Choose a cozy and secure spot in your home for your bulldog puppy to relax and feel at ease. You might want to opt for a crate or a puppy playpen to create a snug and den-like space for them.

Supplies

Stock Up on Supplies

Gather essential supplies such as water and food, nutritious and high-quality puppy food, a leash and a collar, bedding, chew toys, and grooming items. If you're worried about overdoing it, don't fret. It's better to be overprepared and have extra than to be underprepared and need more supplies.

Puppy-Proof

Puppy-Proof Your Property

It's important to get your home ready for your new bulldog puppies before they arrive. English bulldog pups are inquisitive by nature and love to play, so expect some high-energy bonding early on. Clear away any small objects that could be swallowed, hide electrical cords, and remove any toxic plants to keep them safe.

Settling

Settling In After the First Few Days

During the initial days following the arrival of your bulldog puppy, it's essential to focus on establishing a nurturing environment and a consistent routine to build a strong bond. Here are some helpful tips to help your puppy settle in smoothly.

Routine

Get a Routine Going ASAP

If there's one thing bulldogs thrive on (besides nutritious, yummy food), it's a routine. After you've been with your new bulldog puppy for a few days, try creating a schedule. Plan out time for eating, bathroom breaks, training, and playing. We should note that it's important to create a schedule that can be incorporated into your family's routine. You don't need to rearrange your life, but you will need to cater to your new doggo to an extent.

Remain Calm

Try to Remain Calm and Patient

If you had to move to a new home when you were very young, you probably have an idea how a bulldog puppy would feel, too. It can be overwhelming - not just for your bulldog, but for you too. That's why you should try to be as patient and calm as possible while your new addition gets acclimated to their new surroundings.

Whether you're an experienced dog owner or a newcomer, bringing your puppy into their new home should be nothing but a joyful occasion. At IrresistiBulls, we're happy to help make sure you don't go home in a tizzy. That way, you can focus on spending time with your bulldog puppy and creating a loving home from day one.

Top 5 Reasons to Consider English Bulldog Puppies for Sale in Lafayette, LA

Bulldogs are undeniably one of the most adored dog breeds in the world. Their wrinkled faces, stocky bods, and fun personalities have endeared them to dog lovers everywhere. Have you ever met an English bulldog owner who didn't love their pup? We haven't. If you're still on the fence about buying a bulldog puppy for you or your family, you may want to re-think that stance after reading these reasons.

Like, seriously adorable. The wrinkles. The jowls. The saggy eyes. Bulldogs epitomize "Aww, how cute!" especially when they're young. There's just something about grabbing a big wrinkly head and planting a huge kiss right in the middle.

 Playful Bulldog Images Lafayette, LA

Generally speaking, bulldogs are great pets for kids. That's because they're incredibly calm, fiercely devoted, and, well, lazy. A screaming, tugging child doesn't faze them. They'll even let little ones dress them in cowboy hats and tutus without batting an eye.

 Family-friendly Bulldogs Lafayette, LA

Owning a bulldog means there's rarely a dull moment in your home. Whether they're snoring so loud it puts your sleep apnea to shame or interrupting your thoughts with a little flatulence, English bulldogs will make you smile even if you're in a bad mood.

Bulldog Puppies In Lafayette Lafayette, LA

Make no mistake - bulldogs must get exercise to remain healthy. However, when given the choice, many bulldogs would rather curl up on the couch with you than go for a multi-mile run.

English Bulldog Puppies Lafayette, LA

If you think breeds like border collies get all the credit for being smart, think again. Have you ever seen a border collie ride a skateboard or surf a wave? Probably not - but bulldogs are known for such feats. That's due in part to their low center of gravity, but it's mostly because bulldogs are so cool.

Lafayette, La. – Diners at Sunday’s Soda Fountain and Easter shoppers considering going into Honey Baked Ham stores are in for an earful on Friday when “Hell on Wheels”—PETA’s hyper-realistic pig transport truck that looks as if it contains real pigs on their way to slaughter—will bombard them with actual recorded sounds of the animals’ panicked screams, along with a subliminal message every 10 seconds suggesting that people go vegan.

The stops are part of the vexatious vehicle’s multi-state consciousness-raising Easter tour, which will hit Honey Baked Ham stores in Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, Georgia, South Carolina, and Alabama ahead of the holiday to remind shoppers of the suffering behind every glazed ham centerpiece.

“Easter is all about celebrating life, yet we celebrate it with holiday hams that come from pigs who suffer a living death in filthy sheds, are crammed onto trucks for a terrifying journey to the slaughterhouse, and are hung upside down, and their throats slit,” says PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman. “PETA’s ‘Hell on Wheels’ truck is an appeal to everyone who eats pigs to remember that the meat industry is cruel and that going vegan truly celebrates life.”

Where: Outside Sunday’s Soda Fountain, 431 Jefferson Street, Lafayette

When: Friday, April 4, 12 noon

Afterward, the truck will visit the Honey Baked Ham Company at 4400-F Ambassador Caffery Parkway, Lafayette, and 506 E. Prien Lake Road, Lake Charles.

Why: Like humans, pigs dream when they sleep, enjoy listening to music, and show empathy for others who are happy or distressed. Yet in the meat industry, workers chop off piglets’ tails, clip their teeth with pliers, and castrate the males—all without pain relief. When the time comes for slaughter, they’re crammed onto trucks and transported hundreds of miles through all weather extremes without food, water, or rest. Every year, more than 1 million pigs die, and at least 40,000 others sustain injuries during transport to slaughterhouses. It’s common for pigs on the way to slaughter to suffer from heat exhaustion or even become frozen to the sides of trucks.

PETA—whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to eat”—points out that Every Animal Is Someone and offers free Empathy Kits for people who need a lesson in kindness. PETA’s free vegan starter kit is filled with tips to help anyone looking to make the switch. For more information, please visit PETA.org or follow PETA on X, Facebook, or Instagram.

The Bulldogs are coming off their third-straight series win, and second consecutive Conference USA series win and have won seven of their last 10 games. Luke Cooley, who was named CUSA's Pitcher of the Week on Monday, allowed Tech to force the rubber match with eight shutout no-hit innings with the help of a five-run eighth inning put on by the home bats.

Tuesday's game marks the 28th all-time meeting with LSU since their first matchup in 1970, when the Bulldogs won in Baton Rouge, 3-2, and took the first four games of the all-time series. LA Tech has taken two of the last three games over the Tigers after winning just two in the previous 20 matchups.

The last time Tech won at Alex Box Stadium was back in 2022 in a thrilling 11-inning 7-6 triumph. Before an 11-1 blowout victory by Tech in Baton Rouge in 2019, the Bulldogs had lost the last 12 times playing on the Tigers' home field.

Wednesday will be the 131st time the Ragin' Cajuns face the Bulldogs since 1970. The two programs split the two-game season series last year, with UL-Lafayette taking the first game in Ruston, 9-5, before the Bulldogs came back with a 7-2 victory over a Ragin' Cajun team that was ranked No. 19 in the country at the time. Prior to Tech's win in Lafayette, the Ragin' Cajuns had taken the previous two games played on their home field, 2-0 and 7-2, in 2023.

Previewing the Tigers The seventh-ranked LSU Tigers are coming off a series sweep at home over Mississippi State to improve to a 7-2 record in SEC play and 26-3 overall. Before hosting the Bulldogs, the Tigers topped UL-Lafayette, 17-4, in a seven-inning run rule at Alex Box Stadium to bounce back from a series loss to Texas in Austin, who handed LSU two of their three losses on the year. Their first loss came at the hands of Omaha in their sixth game of the year, 5-4, in front of their home crowd in Baton Rouge.

The Tigers are led by head coach Jay Johnson, who is in his fourth year as the skipper for LSU and 13th season as a head coach. Johnson guided the Tigers to their seventh national championship after winning the 2023 College World Series over Wake Forest, when he was also named the National Coach of the Year that season. Since arriving to Baton Rouge, Johnson has seen 27 MLB Draft selections including 16 that were selected in the top 10 rounds, most recently Paul Skenes to the Pittsburgh Pirates and Dylan Crews to the Washington Nationals.

LSU is stacked as a prolific offense, as the Tigers rank among the top 10 nationally in batting average (.338), base hits (324), doubles (71), on-base percentage (.456), runs (289) and slugging percentage (.572). Of those statistics, LSU leads the SEC in just three of them (batting average, hits, doubles). Jared Jones leads the team in hits (46), doubles (10), homers (10), RBI (45), slugging percentage (.754), and OPS (1.258). Jones, along with teammate Derek Curiel, are the only players for LSU and are two of five players in the SEC currently batting over .400 this season, yet are two of nine Tigers batting over .300 and have played in at least 20 games.

The pitching staff for the Tigers provides its own success, carrying a team ERA of 3.84 with five pitchers that have won at least three games with four of them holding undefeated records. Kade Anderson and Anthony Eyanson have been the top two arms for LSU, combining for a 9-0 record and 119 total strikeouts between the two pitchers. Anderson is 5-0 on the year through seven starts, carrying a team-best 3.52 ERA with 61 strikeouts and 10 walks through 38.1 innings of work. Eyanson is 4-0 with a 3.89 ERA in seven starts as well, fanning 58 batters while walking 11 through 37 innings. Outside of Anderson and Eyanson, the Tigers have three other pitchers that have struck out at least 30 batters through minimum 20 innings.

Previewing the Ragin' Cajuns UL-Lafayette is coming off a weekend sweep at home over James Madison following their run-rule loss at LSU. With the Sun Belt now three weekends into conference play, the Ragin' Cajuns have won their last two weekend series over James Madison and South Alabama after losing two of three games to Troy to open their league play. UL-Lafayette has struggled with their non-conference opponents, holding an 8-12 record outside of SBC play yet have wins over Dallas Baptist, Southeastern Louisiana, and won the series at home over Nebraska, who was ranked 23rd at the time of play.

Matt Deggs serves as UL-Lafayette's head coach, who is in his sixth season at the helm of the Ragin' Cajuns baseball program and 11th overall season as a head coach. Deggs is 174-114 since arriving to Lafayette and 361-232 all-time. Deggs has already secured two SBC titles as well as leading his squad to the program's 17th all-time NCAA Regional in 2022. He led the Ragin' Cajuns to back-to-back 40-win seasons in 2023 and 2024, including a 16-game win streak during the 2024 season and opening conference play with a 14-1 record.

Conor Higgs has emerged as UL-Lafayette's top slugger, batting .351 and leading his team in nearly every offensive category. He is the only player on the team with double-digit homers, at least 30 runs scored, slugging over .700 and is one of two players with 30 hits and two triples. Caleb Stelly has also been a steady bat in the Ragin' Cajun lineup, batting .292 with five homers, 17 RBI, six doubles and a pair of triples.

UL-Lafayette's pitching staff has fluctuated as the season has gone along, carrying a team ERA of 5.64 into the week. Only four pitchers for the Ragin' Cajuns have collected at least 25 innings along with recording at least 20 strikeouts. JR Tollett and Blake McGehee are tied for the team lead with three wins apiece, yet Tollett has just over 12 more innings pitched than his teammate. Tollett is among the top 10 in the Sun Belt in least walks allowed, sitting in a tie for fourth with just six walks allowed in 35 1/3 innings.

Lafayette, LA (April 4, 2025) – Emergency personnel responded late Wednesday night to a major traffic accident involving injuries on I-10 near the 10480 block of W I-10 in Lafayette. First responders, including paramedics, assessed and treated individuals hurt in the crash, which took place around 10:03 PM.

The crash occurred on a westbound stretch of the interstate, a key travel route through Lafayette Parish. Multiple vehicles were reportedly involved, and the severity of the incident prompted an extensive emergency response. Crews from Lafayette Fire and Rescue and other regional agencies worked quickly to secure the scene, manage traffic, and attend to the injured.

Initial reports confirm that at least one person sustained a variety of injuries and was transported to a local medical center for further treatment. Traffic on I-10 was significantly impacted, with lane closures extending late into the night as authorities conducted cleanup and an on-site investigation.

The cause of the crash is currently under investigation, with officials reviewing contributing factors such as speed, weather, and vehicle condition. Our thoughts are with the individuals and families affected by this serious crash.

Major Accidents on I-10 Through Lafayette

Interstate 10 is one of the most heavily traveled roadways in the Gulf South, connecting cities across Louisiana and neighboring states. In Lafayette, the westbound lanes near exits and business access points often experience congestion and sudden slowdowns, especially at night when visibility decreases.

Major interstate crashes often result in significant injuries due to the high speeds involved and the potential for multi-vehicle impacts. Victims in such incidents may face serious trauma, emotional distress, lost wages, and high medical bills. When another driver’s negligence contributes to these crashes, Louisiana law allows for legal recovery of damages.

It is critical for injured parties to seek immediate medical care, obtain detailed crash documentation, and consult a legal representative who understands interstate liability and insurance complexities. These steps can help ensure that victims receive full compensation for their injuries and losses.

As Lafayette continues to see growth in both residential and commercial traffic, city leaders and state transportation officials are working to enhance interstate safety. While long-term solutions are being developed, individual caution and responsible driving remain essential.

If you or someone you know has been injured in a crash, reach out to Local Accident Reports for assistance.

There's a new outdoor dining option in downtown Lafayette. Uncle Bob's Roundup offers the stuff of plein air picnic dreams — covered tables, fans, bathrooms and a rotating cast of food trucks offering everything from sweet treats to 'Casian' specialties.

On Saturday, April 5, the food truck park's grand opening event featured food from Shakebacks, Ragin Casians Crossroads Cuisine, Maple Street Milkshake Bar, Ki Yodi's Snowballs and more local food trucks. Yard games and live music by The Nouveau String Band entertained customers, and it was a beautiful day of activity for a section of downtown that was just an empty lot, only a few months ago.

Lafayette architect Dillon Van Way owns Uncle Bob's Roundup food truck park at 144 E. Cypress St., Lafayette — and the DMS Mail Management building next door, which he purchased in 2021 and converted to apartments. That development project paved the way for the Roundup, which sits on a formerly adjudicated lot that Van Way started taking care of in the process of turning DMS Mail Management into the Cypress Flats.

The city granted DVW Properties the lot at 144 E. Cypress St. in 2023, as Van Way had been maintaining it in his capacity as an adjoining property owner. He saw it as a "blank slate" — and knew that he wanted to develop something there that would benefit the downtown community as a whole.

"I didn't want to get the lot from the city and let it just stay vacant," he said. "But with inflation and rising interest rates, it became difficult to develop anything. The park started as an idea of a less costly development to activate that corner of downtown."

Uncle Bob's Roundup has five spots for food trucks, corralled around a central seating area that allows customers to bring large groups during events like Downtown Alive! or Festival International, with everyone able to order from the truck that strikes their fancy.

Van Way built in features like waste dumps, grease traps and 30, 50 and 110 amp electrical breaker capacity that allows the trucks to draw power for all their cooking and refrigeration needs. By eliminating some key food truck infrastructure challenges, and making the park an inviting place for customers, he hopes that Uncle Bob's finds its place in the downtown food ecosystem as a "nice place people want to be."

"It's a casual, quick option. You don't have to dress a certain way to eat. We should have everything a truck should need to stay there, but the goal was to go above and beyond what the trucks needed. Because if people want to be there, the trucks want to come," he says.

The park's hours will be flexible as diners and the food truck community find a good rhythm for sales. Vendors can apply to be at the park on the Uncle Bob's Roundup website, and they can essentially choose their own hours of operation — although spots are already full for major upcoming events like Festival International, according to Van Way.

He says, "Trucks set their own hours, that's the idea. Our piece of the puzzle is not to run the trucks. They're their own business and we just want to give them a place to run their business well. Our hours are until 11 p.m. — if we have a breakfast truck, they can be open whenever."

"We want to become the place people know they can sit down, have a bite to eat and a rest," said Van Way. "A simpler experience with a ton of variety downtown."
