Gather essential supplies such as water and food, nutritious and high-quality puppy food, a leash and a collar, bedding, chew toys, and grooming items. If you're worried about overdoing it, don't fret. It's better to be overprepared and have extra than to be underprepared and need more supplies.

Settling In After the First Few Days

During the initial days following the arrival of your bulldog puppy, it's essential to focus on establishing a nurturing environment and a consistent routine to build a strong bond. Here are some helpful tips to help your puppy settle in smoothly.

Routine

Get a Routine Going ASAP

If there's one thing bulldogs thrive on (besides nutritious, yummy food), it's a routine. After you've been with your new bulldog puppy for a few days, try creating a schedule. Plan out time for eating, bathroom breaks, training, and playing. We should note that it's important to create a schedule that can be incorporated into your family's routine. You don't need to rearrange your life, but you will need to cater to your new doggo to an extent.

Remain Calm

Try to Remain Calm and Patient

If you had to move to a new home when you were very young, you probably have an idea how a bulldog puppy would feel, too. It can be overwhelming - not just for your bulldog, but for you too. That's why you should try to be as patient and calm as possible while your new addition gets acclimated to their new surroundings.

Whether you're an experienced dog owner or a newcomer, bringing your puppy into their new home should be nothing but a joyful occasion. At IrresistiBulls, we're happy to help make sure you don't go home in a tizzy. That way, you can focus on spending time with your bulldog puppy and creating a loving home from day one.

Top 5 Reasons to Consider English Bulldog Puppies for Sale in North Las Vegas, NV

Bulldogs are undeniably one of the most adored dog breeds in the world. Their wrinkled faces, stocky bods, and fun personalities have endeared them to dog lovers everywhere. Have you ever met an English bulldog owner who didn't love their pup? We haven't. If you're still on the fence about buying a bulldog puppy for you or your family, you may want to re-think that stance after reading these reasons.

Generally speaking, bulldogs are great pets for kids. That's because they're incredibly calm, fiercely devoted, and, well, lazy. A screaming, tugging child doesn't faze them. They'll even let little ones dress them in cowboy hats and tutus without batting an eye.

Owning a bulldog means there's rarely a dull moment in your home. Whether they're snoring so loud it puts your sleep apnea to shame or interrupting your thoughts with a little flatulence, English bulldogs will make you smile even if you're in a bad mood.

Make no mistake - bulldogs must get exercise to remain healthy. However, when given the choice, many bulldogs would rather curl up on the couch with you than go for a multi-mile run.

If you think breeds like border collies get all the credit for being smart, think again. Have you ever seen a border collie ride a skateboard or surf a wave? Probably not - but bulldogs are known for such feats. That's due in part to their low center of gravity, but it's mostly because bulldogs are so cool.

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Higher education is expanding across the valley with Nevada State University planting roots in North Las Vegas.

Earlier this month, the Nevada System of Higher Education voted to approve a lease agreement for an NSU building in North Las Vegas. Now, plans are moving forward for a brand-new campus in the NLV Gateway, located near Las Vegas and Lake Mead boulevards.

The partnership is a part of a broader effort to revitalize the city and make higher education more accessible.

“It fits in alignment with our strategic goal in strengthening educational goals in the city here, increasing workforce, diversifying our community, and then diversifying the economy,” North Las Vegas Mayor Pamela Goynes-Brown said.

Goynes-Brown said it’s a partnership with NSU that reflects a shared commitment to removing barriers to higher education and prioritizing equity and accessibility.

“The location is accessible to the community because it’s right here in our downtown core, and as we develop the rest of our downtown the way that we reimagine it, it’ll be a walkable community, and so transportation should not be a barrier,” Goynes-Brown added.

The planned 3-story, 30,000-square-foot building will be part of a 19-acre mixed-use development. The campus will feature academic programming, workforce development opportunities, and student support services.

“We’re very hopeful to provide the type of academic instruction that will make a long-term impact,” NSU Acting President Dr. Amber Lopez Lasater said. “Maximizing options, making it as easy as possible.”

Officials said the campus will have a lasting impact on education and career pathways for residents.

“Probably around 20% of North Las Vegas citizens have advanced degrees, and those numbers will increase significantly here,” Goynes-Brown explained. “And then again, expanding goals – what are career-minded individuals, what do they want, what do they need, and we’ll be able to meet those goals right here.”

Goynes-Brown said bringing a state-of-the-art university will allow students to learn, work, and build their futures – without leaving North Las Vegas.

“Just imagine being able to go to a university right here in your own community, in your own backyard. I think it speaks volumes, and then people that are obtaining advanced degrees will be able to do that, and the goal is to have them work right here in the city of North Las Vegas,” Goynes-Brown said.

Construction on the new campus is expected to begin next spring, with the opening planned for Fall 2027.

Nevada State University’s main campus sits jsut off Interstate 11 in eastern Henderson, near Boulder City — far from the heart of the Las Vegas Valley where most of the college’s students live.

Over nearly 25 years, the four-year institution has expanded significantly, adding programs, students and facilities across its sprawling campus.

A National Survey of Student Engagement that the university undertook, however, revealed what administrators already suspected: The Henderson location posed a significant transportation barrier for many students.

That’s about to change.

Nevada State University is opening a new campus in North Las Vegas as part of the North Las Vegas Gateway development at Lake Mead and North Las Vegas boulevards, dramatically expanding access to higher education and workforce training in the northland.

The 30,000-square-foot facility is scheduled to open in fall 2027 and will offer courses and comprehensive student support services in the city’s emerging downtown area. The Nevada Board of Regents gave its approval for the university to enter a lease agreement for a satellite campus in North Las Vegas.

In the survey, officials found that 1 in 5 students live within 5 miles of the North Las Vegas site. One student reported to surveyors enduring a two-hour commute each way to the Henderson campus.

A campus in North Las Vegas would become a prime location for additional classes, reducing commute times and increasing educational access in the city, officials said.

“Our partnership with the city of North Las Vegas is a bold investment in Nevada’s future,” Amber Lopez Lasater, acting president of Nevada State University, said in a statement. “This collaboration shows what’s possible when public institutions, local and state governments, and private partners come together to unlock innovation and opportunity for every learner and every family.”

The North Las Vegas campus, which is being developed in collaboration with Agora Realty and Management, will feature a three-story, 30,000-square-foot building.

The facility will include ultramodern classrooms, teleconferencing rooms, study spaces, faculty and staff offices, online course access hubs and tutoring facilities. Students will be able to pursue baccalaureate degrees and participate in career readiness programs, with a particular emphasis on the teacher education pipeline.

University officials said additional courses would be developed based on input from faculty, current and prospective students, the city of North Las Vegas, regional employers and community partners.

They anticipate 400 to 450 current students will take at least one class at the North Las Vegas site, which will also free up space at the Henderson campus to accommodate enrollment growth.

The project is being funded through multiple sources. The city of North Las Vegas’ redevelopment agency is providing a $7.53 million subsidy to cover the first five years of rent, while $2.5 million comes from Senate Bill 498, which was passed during this year’s legislative session to expand nursing programs. Additional funding includes a $250,000 gift from NV Energy and $500,000 from an anonymous donor.

The campus will anchor the North Las Vegas Gateway, a 19-acre mixed-use redevelopment that is being designed to attract commercial office space, retail and restaurant businesses, health care facilities, affordable housing and child care to East Lake Mead Boulevard and the surrounding area.

“This campus will fundamentally transform our downtown core and open doors to better career paths for our residents,” North Las Vegas Mayor Pamela Goynes-Brown said in a statement. “I am so proud to have Nevada State University as a partner in bringing educational opportunities to the heart of our community.”

Nevada State University, originally Nevada State College, was created by the Nevada Legislature in 1999 and opened in 2002 with a focus on nursing and education.

Starting from a single Henderson building, the institution now spans 512 acres at the foot of Mount Scorpion with multiple academic buildings, student housing and athletic facilities.

Enrollment at Nevada State has surged from 3,364 students in 2015 to more than 8,300 in 2025. The university has seen significant growth in retention and graduation rates, added Nevada’s first collegiate women’s flag football and men’s track and field teams, and is expanding to serve more residents.

“The North Las Vegas Campus for Nevada State University reflects the system’s commitment to expanding access, supporting student success, and strengthening Nevada’s workforce,” Byron Brooks, chair of the regents, said in a statement. “This collaborative effort lays the groundwork for long-term economic growth by bringing higher education opportunities closer to communities that have long been underserved.”

Construction is expected to begin in the spring.

Funding for the project includes approximately $7.5 million from the City of North Las Vegas, $2.5 million allocated by the Nevada Legislature, and additional philanthropic support from NV Energy and an anonymous donor. NSU has received approval from the Nevada System of Higher Education Board of Regents to lease the building, initiating the campus development process.

“This campus will fundamentally transform our downtown core and open doors to better career paths for our residents,” said North Las Vegas Mayor Pamela Goynes-Brown. “I am so proud to have Nevada State University as a partner in bringing educational opportunities to the heart of our community.”

The campus is expected to serve about 2,500 North Las Vegas residents and offer access to more than 240 degree programs per term. Academic offerings, workforce development pathways, and student support services will be designed to reduce commute times, improve class availability, and help students graduate on time. Officials also plan to expand partnerships with local high schools and explore future collaboration with potential middle school programs as the area grows.

“Our partnership with the City of North Las Vegas is a bold investment in Nevada's future. Through an innovative public-private model, we are building a next-generation Nevada State University campus that expands access to higher education, drives workforce development, and strengthens long-term economic growth,” said Dr. Amber Lopez Lasater, Acting President of Nevada State University. “This collaboration shows what's possible when public institutions, local and state governments, and private partners come together to unlock innovation and opportunity for every learner and every family,” she added.

NORTH LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — We're getting a better idea of the programs that will be offered at the new Nevada State University satellite campus planned for North Las Vegas and how they could help with workforce needs and access.

The three-story academic building will be built at Lake Mead Boulevard and Las Vegas Boulevard North.

State education officials recently approved the lease agreement, marking the first official step.

Funding is coming from multiple sources, including $2.5 million from the State Legislature and hundreds of thousands of dollars in donations.

The city will cover rent for the first five years with a $7.5 million investment, one leaders believe will pay off.

The initial focus there will be on teacher pipeline programs.

It's something Mayor Pamela Goynes-Brown, a former educator, tells me will help fill a need in North Las Vegas.

"We want to build that teacher pipeline because what a great asset to have a trained educator that's in the community, turn around and work in schools right here in their community," she said. "They know this community in and out, so that's just a huge asset."

I also spoke with the acting NSU president, who says this location is advantageous for them, too.

Right now, about 1 in 5 NSU students live within five miles of the North Las Vegas site, but have to make that long drive down to Henderson.

"Not be in a position where you're spending time commuting from one point to the next point could certainly change the game in terms of opportunity in terms of enrolling into higher education," said Dr. Amber Lopez Lasater.

The groundbreaking is scheduled for April 2026, with first classes expected to begin in fall of 2027.

Nevada State University is a step closer toward opening a new campus in North Las Vegas following a Board of Regents vote Friday, officials announced.

The regents, which direct the Nevada System of Higher Education, gave the green light on a lease proposal for a planned three-story academic building near Lake Mead Boulevard and Las Vegas Boulevard in North Las Vegas that would open in 2027, according to a news release Friday issued by the city of North Las Vegas.

The vote marks “the first official step toward establishing a campus in the city,” the news release said.

North Las Vegas Mayor Pamela Goynes-Brown said in a statement that the new campus will “transform” the city’s downtown core and “open doors to better career paths” for city residents.

“I am so proud to have Nevada State University as a partner in bringing educational opportunities to the heart of our community,” Goynes-Brown said.

Plans call for the 30,000-square-foot building to be a primary component of the “NLV Gateway,” a 19-acre development by Agora Realty and Management, according to the release.

Construction on the Nevada State University building is expected to start in the spring. Nevada State University’s main campus is in southeast Henderson near Interstate 11 and Nevada State Drive.

“Our partnership with the City of North Las Vegas is a bold investment in Nevada’s future,” said Dr. Amber Lopez Lasater, acting president for the university. “Through an innovative public-private model, we are building a next-generation Nevada State University campus that expands access to higher education, drives workforce development, and strengthens long-term economic growth.”

Investment in the campus project will come from a number of entities, including the city of North Las Vegas, NV Energy, and an anonymous donor, according to the press release.

Nevada State University, formerly known as Nevada State College, serves over 8,400 students, according to the release.
