English Bulldog Puppies for Sale in Winston-Salem, NC

When it comes to buying purebred puppies, there are a lot of breeds and questions to consider. Do you want an outdoor pup or one that spends its time indoors? Are you looking for a tiny dog you can take with you everywhere or a larger breed you can lay with on the couch? Of all the purebred puppies to choose from, none are quite like the English bulldog. Their sourmug face might not be for everyone, but if your ideal version of man's best friend is a snorty, stocky ball of wrinkles that loves to lounge, a bulldog could be perfect for you.

Bulldogs are beloved for their unique looks and charming personalities. They have strong reputations for being loyal companions, making them incredibly popular for families and individuals alike. There's just something about their squishy face and bowling ball body that makes you want to love and cuddle them forever. Unfortunately, finding a purebred English bulldog from your local shelter is like searching for a needle in a haystack. When you factor in the fact that many English bulldog breeders are less-than-reputable, finding the right bulldog puppies for adoption in Winston-Salem, NC can be challenging.

If you've been searching high and low for purebred English bulldog puppies from a responsible breeder, don't give up hope. Your search may be coming to an end sooner than you think with the help of IrresistiBulls.

We make it a point to offer expert tips and tricks for any challenges that may arise, which can help save you time, money, and a trip to the vet.

The IrresistiBulls Difference

When you welcome a bulldog pup from our program into your home, you're not just getting any dog - you're gaining a remarkable English bulldog with a documented lineage of health, intelligence, and obedience - as well as all the hallmark traits that make English bulldogs beloved. While our dogs come from champion lines, they're perfect for families, provide unconditional love, and will probably be your new dinner bell, too.

Trial

It's Science, Not Trial and Error

Our cherished bulldog, Bruiser, was a unique boy. He stood out from other dogs. Like Bruiser, IrresistiBulls stands out from other breeders because we base our breeding practices on science and careful consideration.

Our goal isn't just about selling English bulldog puppies. It's to ensure that every puppy we breed excels in health, temperament, intelligence, and obedience. We don't rely on trial and error, which often yields more errors than successes. Extensive research underpins our methods to guarantee the best possible outcomes. Our dedication extends not only to the families welcoming our puppies into their homes but also to the well-being and quality of life of the puppies themselves. That's the IrresistiBulls difference.

Sire

Sire and Dams Bred for Excellence

When it comes to longevity, health, temperament, and intelligence, it all starts with the dam and sire. That's why our English bulldog sires and dams are carefully selected for their excellence, champion bloodlines, and genetic traits. We're not your run-of-the-mill English bulldog breeders in South Carolina; we've perfected our method. We genuinely care and view every puppy we bring into the world as a part of our extended family. Each one of our dogs is truly the "cream of the crop," guaranteed to pass on greatness to their offspring.

Around

World-Class Bulldog Lineage from Around the World

We meticulously breed for highly coveted traits and take proactive measures to limit traits that can lead to health conditions in your puppy. An Improved Process of Breeding Purebred English Bulldog Puppies for Sale in Winston-Salem, NC

Breeding any dog, especially English bulldogs, poses health concerns. We make every effort to breed English bulldogs with the desirable genetic traits while working to eliminate those that could result in health problems. The key is to avoid breeding puppies that are closely related and could potentially have genetic abnormalities.

Unfortunately, some breeders are either irresponsible or lack an understanding of the complexities involved in producing healthy English bulldog lines. We only breed dogs with the best-quality lineages and never take unnecessary risks by breeding dogs with overly similar ancestry. This approach safeguards not only our business but also the well-being of the puppies and the families who welcome them into their homes.

Whether you're a single pup parent or have a family with children, you'll love your new bulldogs' affectionate, loyal nature and will laugh out loud at their quirky attitude. However, bringing a bulldog puppy home necessitates careful forethought and organization to guarantee a seamless adjustment for both you and your new furry pal. Keep these essential tips in mind when it's time to bring your bulldog puppy to your den.

Safe Space

Create a Safe Space

Choose a cozy and secure spot in your home for your bulldog puppy to relax and feel at ease. You might want to opt for a crate or a puppy playpen to create a snug and den-like space for them.

Supplies

Stock Up on Supplies

Gather essential supplies such as water and food, nutritious and high-quality puppy food, a leash and a collar, bedding, chew toys, and grooming items. If you're worried about overdoing it, don't fret. It's better to be overprepared and have extra than to be underprepared and need more supplies.

Puppy-Proof

Puppy-Proof Your Property

It's important to get your home ready for your new bulldog puppies before they arrive. English bulldog pups are inquisitive by nature and love to play, so expect some high-energy bonding early on. Clear away any small objects that could be swallowed, hide electrical cords, and remove any toxic plants to keep them safe.

Settling

Settling In After the First Few Days

During the initial days following the arrival of your bulldog puppy, it's essential to focus on establishing a nurturing environment and a consistent routine to build a strong bond. Here are some helpful tips to help your puppy settle in smoothly.

Routine

Get a Routine Going ASAP

If there's one thing bulldogs thrive on (besides nutritious, yummy food), it's a routine. After you've been with your new bulldog puppy for a few days, try creating a schedule. Plan out time for eating, bathroom breaks, training, and playing. We should note that it's important to create a schedule that can be incorporated into your family's routine. You don't need to rearrange your life, but you will need to cater to your new doggo to an extent.

Remain Calm

Try to Remain Calm and Patient

If you had to move to a new home when you were very young, you probably have an idea how a bulldog puppy would feel, too. It can be overwhelming - not just for your bulldog, but for you too. That's why you should try to be as patient and calm as possible while your new addition gets acclimated to their new surroundings.

Whether you're an experienced dog owner or a newcomer, bringing your puppy into their new home should be nothing but a joyful occasion. At IrresistiBulls, we're happy to help make sure you don't go home in a tizzy. That way, you can focus on spending time with your bulldog puppy and creating a loving home from day one.

Top 5 Reasons to Consider English Bulldog Puppies for Sale in Winston-Salem, NC

Bulldogs are undeniably one of the most adored dog breeds in the world. Their wrinkled faces, stocky bods, and fun personalities have endeared them to dog lovers everywhere. Have you ever met an English bulldog owner who didn't love their pup? We haven't. If you're still on the fence about buying a bulldog puppy for you or your family, you may want to re-think that stance after reading these reasons.

Like, seriously adorable. The wrinkles. The jowls. The saggy eyes. Bulldogs epitomize "Aww, how cute!" especially when they're young. There's just something about grabbing a big wrinkly head and planting a huge kiss right in the middle.

 Playful Bulldog Images Winston-Salem, NC

Generally speaking, bulldogs are great pets for kids. That's because they're incredibly calm, fiercely devoted, and, well, lazy. A screaming, tugging child doesn't faze them. They'll even let little ones dress them in cowboy hats and tutus without batting an eye.

 Family-friendly Bulldogs Winston-Salem, NC

Owning a bulldog means there's rarely a dull moment in your home. Whether they're snoring so loud it puts your sleep apnea to shame or interrupting your thoughts with a little flatulence, English bulldogs will make you smile even if you're in a bad mood.

Make no mistake - bulldogs must get exercise to remain healthy. However, when given the choice, many bulldogs would rather curl up on the couch with you than go for a multi-mile run.

If you think breeds like border collies get all the credit for being smart, think again. Have you ever seen a border collie ride a skateboard or surf a wave? Probably not - but bulldogs are known for such feats. That's due in part to their low center of gravity, but it's mostly because bulldogs are so cool.

Coyotes captured on camera in Winston-Salem neighborhood but here's why you'll start to hear more howling in North Carolina this spring

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. —

James and Edith Eubanks live in the Ardmore neighborhood of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. For several years, the Eubanks have shared wildlife photos with WXII 12 News from their backyard on our Facebook Group, uLocal North Carolina.

Coyotes live right next door in North Carolina from the cities to the suburbs

They have seen a coyote pack take residence a few hundred yards behind their house. In fact, over the winter, they watched a coyote walk through the parking lot of a Biscuitville in Winston-Salem.

They've seen so much wildlife in their neighborhood that they've nicknamed it the "Ardmore Zoo."

Over the years, they've shared photos of birds and raccoons, but they remember previous springs when red foxes would steal newspapers from the neighborhood for their young kits.

"At first, it was red and gray foxes, and then, over time, coyote started showing up," James Eubanks said. "This provides fresh water, and on the sides of the bank, the animals will actually dig holes in the ground and have their kits in there. So it's an elevated, dry, safe place," he said.

The couple warns those in the neighborhood not to approach the animals. "Don't approach. These animals will let you get past them if you'll give them room enough. Don't approach them. And that's probably the key," James Eubanks said.

His wife, Edith Eubanks, warns about animals that have babies around.

"And most wildlife experts say they're not going to attack you because you're bigger. But if they do have babies around, then that's a whole different story. So, the best thing to do is just turn around and get back the way you came from. Don't go towards them," Edith Eubnaks said.

Coyotes like city life and the suburbs

Ardmore is near the city, but many areas in the Triad from Greensboro to High Point have wooded spots that lie near parks or border storm drains, creeks and greenways. These areas provide shelter for coyotes and their young pups.

Coyotes typically dig holes in the side of creek banks for their newborn pups, or they may choose to seek refuge under your tool shed or an outbuilding, especially if the structure sits outside of a fenced lawn near a wooded area.

When you might see and hear a coyote in the spring

Whether we have seen a coyote or not in our neighborhoods, we might have heard them howling at night as they establish their territory or simply communicate with one another. "They are very chatty. Coyotes are vocal," said Falyn Owens, a biologist with the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission. Owens said that by May, we could begin to hear more howling and hear about a few coyote sightings from neighbors as more pups will be born then into early June.

What time of day can you see coyotes?

As coyotes prefer to take cover from humans, they tend to make appearances only on wildlife cameras for the majority of the year. However, coyotes may be spotted around neighborhoods at any time of day or night, hunting meals for their young in the spring, especially in May.

Small pets and cats could be a meal for our neighborhood Coyotes

Coyotes live in urban and wild areas of North Carolina and might be spotted hunting for food for their pups and for themselves.

A coyote's typical diet

While most coyotes choose animals under five pounds, it is always a good idea to keep smaller, more vulnerable pets indoors. Letting small domestic dogs or cats off leashes in unfenced areas may provide coyotes with their next meal.

How big are coyotes?

Once grown, coyotes may reach an average of about 30 pounds, according to North Carolina Wildlife Resources agent Ruper Medford. Medford said it is very rare for a coyote to approach a human, and they are a stealthy group

If you are concerned about encounters with coyotes, the best thing to do is always give a coyote space and move the other way. However, if you have had an interaction with an aggressive coyote or one that moves toward you, there's a chance the coyote is protecting its young or, in very rare circumstances, it may be rabid. Many other wildlife, such as raccoons, experience rabies in higher numbers compared to coyotes.

While just seeing a coyote is not a reason for alarm, the North Carolina Resources Commission does offer a Wildlife Help Hotline. If you have questions about coyotes near you, call 1-866-318-2401.

Owens said moving away from an area a coyote may be protecting may be all that is needed, especially if the coyote is in a wooded or brushy area and may be keeping its pups safe.

One of the most helpful things to do for preventing any unwanted wildlife including coyotes, is to keep food sources out of reach.

The Triad is on track to be home to North Carolina’s first new nuclear power plant in nearly four decades.

Duke Energy plans to file an initial permit application with the federal Nuclear Regulatory Commission later this year for a proposed reactor at the company’s Belews Creek Power Station in Stokes County.

If all goes as planned, Duke will begin generating emission-free energy at the 50-year-old facility in 2034 as it phases out the burning of coal there by 2036, company spokesman Bill Norton said.

Duke added gas-fired units at Belews Creek in 2020 and 2021, allowing the station to evenly divide generation for energy-producing turbines between gas and coal.

Charlotte-based Duke recently joined a coalition of large utilities, technology firms and researchers aiming to find the most cost-effective path toward the next generation of nuclear power.

The group, led by the Tennessee Valley Authority, has applied for an $800 million federal grant to support accelerating development of so-called small nuclear reactors.

SMRs generate about one-third as much power as traditional nuclear reactors but are cheaper and easier to deploy because they can be assembled in a factory then transported for on-site installation.

Duke’s Harris Nuclear Plant near Raleigh — North Carolina’s last nuclear plant to come online, in 1987 — has a generating capacity of 928 megawatts. That’s enough to power more than 550,000 homes at one time.

The company says its proposed reactor at Belews Creek will be capable of producing about 300 megawatts. The station currently has a total capacity of 2,200 megawatts.

President Donald Trump’s efforts to slash spending have included a freeze on federal grants. It’s unclear whether those efforts will affect the U.S. Department of Energy grant Duke and its partners are seeking.

However, Trump’s secretary of energy, Chris Wright, recently visited the site where TVA is planning its own small modular reactor and declared the “launch of a new American nuclear renaissance.”

Shifting from coal

For now, the grant effort “reflects our commitment to nuclear energy’s role in our long-term ‘all of the above’ generation strategy by supporting the rigorous evaluation of future technologies, such as small modular reactors,” said Duke Energy President Harry Sideris.

Clean-energy advocates have bemoaned the “all of the above” approach because it includes adding natural gas capacity to help offset the shuttering of coal-fired units and provide a reliable bridge in the transition to clean energy.

Duke notes that gas combustion generates about 40% less heat-trapping carbon dioxide at the Belews Creek than coal, but critics counter that the company should be more aggressive in replacing fossil fuels with emission-free sources like solar and wind.

For now, the Belews Creek station is North Carolina’s largest single source of climate-warming pollution, according to recently reported federal data – findings that Duke insists are misleading without added context.

In 2023, the facility released nearly 5.6 million metric tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency reported in its nationwide annual accounting of emissions from large facilities.

That’s the equivalent of what would be released in a year by 1.3 million typical gas-powered vehicles, according to the EPA.

Heat-trapping carbon dioxide is the leading human-caused contributor to climate change.

In all, power plants accounted for North Carolina’s 14 biggest climate-impacting polluters, including Duke’s Triad-area operations in Eden (1.5 million metric tons of carbon dioxide) and Reidsville (456,000 metric tons).

Statewide, the generation of electricity accounts for about one-third of greenhouse-gas emissions, second only to the transportation sector, according to the N.C. Department of Environmental Quality.

However, analyzing the pollution figures without considering energy production capacity is unfair, Duke insists.

“That report is flawed,” company spokesman Ben Williamson said of the EPA’s data. “It lists total reported emissions without considering plant size or efficiency, which fails to provide an accurate picture.”

What’s next?

Duke plans to apply later this year to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission for a site permit at Belews Creek.

If that is approved, the company will begin drafting a federal license application for the reactor and likely submit it to the NRC in 2027, Norton, the Duke spokesman, said.

The company plans to file a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity with the North Carolina Utilities Commission in 2008, with a target to begin construction in 2030.

A line of rainstorms moved through Triad Wednesday, toppling trees in Guilford and Forsyth counties and causing some power outages.

The weather also affected the local school districts.

Officials at Sedalia Elementary School in Sedalia as well as Eastern Guilford middle and high schools in Gibsonville dismissed their students at 1 p.m. due to a power outage, said Gabrielle Brown, a spokeswoman for the Guilford County Schools.

After-school care enrichment services were canceled at Sedalia Elementary, Brown said.

When the National Weather Service issued a tornado warning at 8:18 a.m. Wednesday for Forsyth County, school buses carrying students to the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools pulled into safe areas where students could shelter in place, said Amanda Lehmert, a spokeswoman for the school district said.

The buses were delayed for 10 to 20 minutes before they took those students to their schools, Lehmert said.

In Greensboro, the Piedmont Triad International Airport received 1.2 inches of rain, said Barrett Smith, a weather-service meteorologist in Raleigh. Winston-Salem got about ½ inches to ¾ inches of rain.

“People got by pretty much unfazed,” Smith said. “It doesn’t look like there was much damage.”

A wind gust of 45 mph was reported at Piedmont Triad International Airport, and a wind gust of 29 mph was reported at Smith Reynolds Airport in Winston-Salem, the weather service said.

The weather service issued a tornado watch and wind advisory Wednesday for central North Carolina, including the Triad.

By mid-Wednesday morning, Duke Energy Corp. reported 15,677 outages to its customers in North Carolina.

There were 1,109 outages in Guilford County, and 149 outages in Forsyth County, the company said.

Later Wednesday, Duke Energy reported 355 of its customers in Guilford County and eight of their customers in Forsyth County were still without electricity.

TORNADO WATCH

A tornado watch is issued by the National Weather Service when conditions are favorable for the development of tornadoes in and close to the watch area. The NWS said a tornado watch is usually issued for a duration of four to eight hours. It’s usually issued well in advance of the actual occurrence or severe weather.

TORNADO WARNING

A tornado warning is issued when a tornado is indicated by radar or sighted by weather spotters. If a tornado warning is issued for your area, you should immediately seek shelter. A tornado warning can also be issued without a tornado watch being already in effect. Tornado warnings are usually issued for a duration of about 30 minutes.
