Bringing home an English Bulldog puppy is an exciting decision, but choosing the right breeder is just as important as choosing the right puppy. These questions to ask an English Bulldog breeder can help you compare breeders and make a more informed decision before choosing your puppy. A responsible breeder should be knowledgeable about the breed, transparent about their breeding program, and willing to answer your questions before you make a commitment.

English Bulldogs are a unique breed with specific health, temperament, and care considerations, so prospective owners should know what to look for when researching breeders. Asking the right questions can help you feel confident that your puppy has been raised with proper care and that you’ll have knowledgeable support after your puppy comes home.
Below are 10 important questions to ask an English Bulldog breeder before buying a puppy—and what you should look for in their answers.

What health test do you perform on your english bulldogs?

Health should be one of the first things you discuss with an English Bulldog breeder. Bulldogs can be predisposed to certain inherited and breed-related health conditions, so responsible breeding decisions are important.
Ask the breeder what health testing or screenings are performed on the parents before breeding and whether they can provide information about the health history of their dogs. A reputable breeder should be willing to discuss both the strengths and potential health concerns within their bloodlines.
You should also ask about the veterinary care the puppies receive before going to their new homes, including wellness examinations, vaccinations, deworming, and any health documentation that will be provided.

Can I meet or learn about the puppy's parents?

Learning about a puppy’s parents can tell you a lot about what to expect as your English Bulldog grows. Ask the breeder about the parents’ temperament, health, structure, and personality, as well as any health testing or veterinary history that may be relevant.
Keep in mind that you may not always be able to meet both parents in person. Responsible breeders sometimes use an outside stud from another breeder to improve their bloodlines, so the sire may live in another state or even another country. A reputable breeder should still be able to provide information, photos, pedigree details, and health information about both parents.
At IrresistiBulls, we carefully select our breeding pairs with the goal of producing healthy, well-tempered English Bulldogs that represent the qualities we value in the breed.

What Vaccinations and Veterinary care will my puppy receive?

At IrresistiBulls, our puppies stay with us until they are 8 weeks of age before going to their new homes. During that time, we follow a structured vaccination and preventative-care schedule designed to help give our puppies a healthy start.

Our puppies receive an intranasal Bordetella vaccine at 3 weeks of age, followed by a Nobivac vaccine at 5 weeks and another Nobivac vaccine at 7 weeks. We also monitor our puppies closely as they grow and make sure buyers receive the health and vaccination information they need when their puppy goes home.
When speaking with any breeder, ask exactly what vaccines and veterinary care the puppy will have received before pickup. A responsible breeder should be able to clearly explain their protocol and provide records for you to take to your veterinarian.

At what age can the puppy go home?

English Bulldog puppies should not be rushed away from their mother and littermates. Those early weeks are important for their physical development, socialization, and learning appropriate behaviors from their mother and siblings.

At IrresistiBulls, our puppies remain in our care until they are 8 weeks old. This gives us additional time to monitor their development, follow our puppy-care and vaccination protocol, and prepare them for the transition into their new families.
Before going home, we make sure each puppy is eating well, developing appropriately, and ready for the next chapter with their new family. We also provide our families with information to help make the transition from our home to theirs as smooth as possible.

what kind of socialization do your english bulldog puppies receive?

Early socialization is an important part of raising a confident, well-adjusted English Bulldog puppy. During their first eight weeks with us, our puppies are handled regularly and become accustomed to normal everyday sights, sounds, and interactions.

At IrresistiBulls, we spend time getting to know each puppy’s individual personality while helping them become comfortable with people and routine household activity. They also benefit from growing up alongside their mother and littermates, where they begin learning important social behaviors.
Our goal is to give every puppy a positive foundation before leaving for their new home so their new family can continue building confidence through safe, age-appropriate socialization and training.

Do you offer a health guarantee?

Yes. At IrresistiBulls, we stand behind the puppies we produce and provide a one-year health guarantee with our puppies.

Before leaving for their new homes, our puppies receive appropriate veterinary care and are monitored closely throughout their time with us. We want our families to feel confident knowing that health and responsible breeding are priorities in our program.

We also encourage every new owner to establish a relationship with a veterinarian and continue routine wellness examinations, vaccinations, parasite prevention, proper nutrition, and other recommended care throughout their Bulldog’s life.

What are the most important questions to ask an english bulldog breeder?

Choosing the right English Bulldog breeder is just as important as choosing the right puppy. A reputable breeder should be open and willing to answer your questions about their dogs, breeding program, health practices, and how their puppies are raised.

Look for a breeder who prioritizes the health, temperament, and overall well-being of their Bulldogs rather than simply producing puppies. They should be able to provide information about the puppy’s parents, veterinary care, health guarantee, and what you can expect when bringing your puppy home.
Most importantly, choose a breeder you feel comfortable communicating with. A responsible breeder should be a resource for their puppy families and be available to answer questions both before and after the puppy goes home.

can i stay in contact with you after i bring my puppy home?

Absolutely. Our relationship with our puppy families does not end when their English Bulldog goes home. We love receiving updates and watching our puppies grow into beloved members of their families.

We are available to answer questions and offer guidance as your puppy adjusts to their new home. Whether you have questions about feeding, training, routine care, or simply want to share photos and updates, we are always happy to hear from our IrresistiBulls families.
Choosing a breeder who remains available after your puppy goes home can be especially valuable with a breed like the English Bulldog. We want our families to know they can reach out to us throughout their Bulldog’s life.

How do i reserve an english bulldog puppy?

If you have found the right English Bulldog puppy or would like to reserve a pick from an upcoming litter, the next step is to contact us to discuss availability.
At IrresistiBulls, a $500 deposit is required to reserve a puppy or secure your pick from an upcoming litter. The remaining balance is due according to the terms discussed before your puppy goes home.
We encourage families to reach out early, especially if they have a preference for a particular sex, color, or upcoming breeding. Some of our puppies and pick positions are reserved before the litter arrives.
We are happy to answer your questions, discuss upcoming litters, and help you determine which English Bulldog puppy may be the best fit for your family.

Do you offer delivery or flight nanny service?

Yes. We work with families throughout South Carolina and across the United States, so living outside our area does not necessarily prevent you from bringing home an IrresistiBulls puppy.
Families who live close enough may arrange to pick up their puppy in Santee, South Carolina. For families who live farther away, we can also help coordinate flight nanny service, allowing your puppy to travel safely with a dedicated person rather than being shipped alone as cargo.
We will discuss the available options with you and help determine the best way to get your English Bulldog puppy safely home to your family.
