Green Bay: Packers Foundation awards $1.5 million to organizations across Wisconsin.

The packers are doing great things on the field this season. Off the field, the green Bay Packers Foundation is doing great things too. The Foundation awarded $1.5 million in grants this year to 398 civic and charitable organizations across Wisconsin. The Press Gazette reported that this year’s grants focus on the areas of arts and culture, athletics and education. A luncheon recognizing grant recipients was held Thursday in the Lambeau Field Atrium. Speakers included Wilson Jones, chairman of the Green Bay Packers Foundation and Packers alum Dorsey Levens. In 2025, the grants will go toward organizations in the areas of animal welfare, civic and community, environmental, health, and wellness (including drug/alcohol and domestic violence). Full Story

Wisconsin Dells: Wisconsin themed hotel to open in the Dells.

Another hotel will be opening in the Wisconsin Dells next summer with a theme that will hit close to home. The name of the hotel, The Wisconsin Hotel. The Journal Sentinel quoted a press release saying the hotel will ” lean into the state’s heritage in a big way, from architecture and interior design to culinary and event space.” The “Wisconsin” of the hotel will be most evident in its design aesthetic, which will be reminiscent of classic farm structures. The hotel’s restaurant — called Farmer in the Dells — will continue the theme, with seasonal ingredients sourced from local farms and a four-story Silo Bar, which will include an open-air rooftop bar with a view of Mirror Lake State Park. The hotel will replace the current Wintergreen Hotel, which will remain open until Jan. 6. The Wisconsin Hotel will open in phases after that, with the entire hotel opening in summer 2025. Franklin: SnowGlobe Holiday Festival coming to Franklin.

Christmas lights can be hypnotic. A big display of lights can fill you with joy, the holiday spirit and maybe some envy. Franklin will be the focus of another Christmas lights extravaganza this year. Last year, Enchant Christmas, which bills itself as the world’s largest holiday light event experience, created a giant Christmas light maze at Ballpark Commons in Franklin, at 7035 S. Ballpark Drive. This year’s event is called the SnowGlobe holiday festival and will have a lot of the same elements. The centerpiece of the experience is a maze made from holiday lights. People will make their way through the maze, finding hidden light sculptures along the way. A Christkindlmarket will be set up at the event and children can visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus. The event runs Fridays through Sundays from Nov. 22- Dec. 1, then Thursdays through Sundays Dec. 5-22, then daily (except for Christmas Day, Dec. 25) Dec. 23-30. Full Story

They say the chance of snow at the moment is 7 percent.

Will it snow for Dolphins at Packers on Thanksgiving?

According to accuweather.com, there is a 15 percent chance of precipitation on Thanksgiving in Green Bay.

Last week they suggested there could be a half inch of snow, but their forecast has improved a bit.

They do say the "Real Feel" low will be around 6 degrees with the possibility of 9 miles-per-hour winds.

Not fun.

How do the Dolphins play in cold weather?

The Dolphins have won three straight games to improve to 5-6 this season.

But the Dolphins have historically performed poorly in cold weather.

When the temperature is 23 degrees or colder, Miami is 3-7 all-time.

Miami has won only once since 1992 - 32 years ago - when it's 23 degrees or colder.

In 2008, the Dolphins won at Kansas City, 38-31, when it was 10 degrees.

How does Tua Tagovailoa perform in cold weather?

Tua Tagovailoa has a 0-7 record when the temperature is 40 degrees or colder during one of his games.

Tua has taken to training in colder climates. And he been wearing a ski-style mask under his helmet in recent games.

Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel said he watched some of the recent Browns-Steelers game in the snow.

"Obviously, the weather isn’t premier for throwing the ball in the air far, however there are certain types of throws and certain types of situations and known passing situations where you still can operate the same way and there’s situations that you can’t," McDaniel said.

Miami lost at Kansas City in the last NFL playoffs as the temperature dipped to -4 degrees.

In that game, Tagovailoa wore a glove on his right, non-throwing hand and tried to protect his left hand by keeping it in a pocket whenever possible.

"While meteorology isn’t an exact science, they’re generally in the right stratosphere," McDaniel said. "So the most difficult is adjusting to very wet games, because a lot of times you don’t know that to be fact based upon the whole week.”

There have been a plethora of former Green Bay Packers players that went on to play for the Minnesota Vikings when their time at 1265 Lombardi came to an end. Even now, the current Vikings roster features running back Aaron Jones, who is the third-leading rusher in Packers franchise history.

Jones, of course, was released by Green Bay in favor of free agent Josh Jacobs, who is currently third in the NFL in rushing yards with 838.

Of course, whenever anyone thinks of former Packers who went on to play for the Vikings, the biggest name is that of Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre, who signed with Minnesota in 2009 after spending a year with the New York Jets.

Many Green Bay Packers Fans Believe that Aaron Rodgers Will End Up with the Minnesota Vikings

Former Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who took over Favre, is currently playing for the Jets. When Green Bay first traded him to New York, many fans joked that it was just a matter of time before Rodgers followed in his predecessor’s footsteps and wound up in Minnesota.

Currently, Rodgers and the Jets are in turmoil. The team is just 3-8 and the future Pro Football Hall of Famer is having the worst season of his career with a 63.4% completion percentage, 2,442 passing yards, 17 touchdowns, seven interceptions, and an 88.9 passer rating.

Earlier this week, New York fired their general manager, Joe Douglas. Having fired head coach Robert Saleh after they started 2-3, the group that convinced Rodgers to agree to a trade to the Jets is now gone. With his relationship with owner Woody Johnson shredded to ribbons, it is clear that the former Packers quarterback does not have the long future he envisioned in New York.

In fact, a report that dropped on Saturday morning stated that the Jets may even cut Rodgers before the 2024 season ends.

These developments have just further flamed the speculation that the four-time NFL MVP could end up playing for the Vikings in 2025. However, one Packers insider does not think that will be the case.

According to multiple reports, Johnson wanted Saleh and his coaching staff to bench Rodgers after Week Four. Douglas and the coaches, however, talked him out of it.

Now that Douglas and Saleh are gone, the rest of the remaining coaches no longer have a guaranteed future in New York either. And even if they do, their stance on Rodgers will likely not carry much weight.

Even if it did, though, Dianna Russini of The Athletic reported on Saturday that Rodgers does not want to play for the Jets anyway after the season ends.

With so many pointing to the Vikings as a possible landing spot for the former Packers quarterback, Matt Schneidman, also of The Athletic, shared the following interesting opinion:

When one thinks about it, this opinion does make a lot of sense. No matter what any fans may say about Rodgers, everyone knows that he deeply cares about the Packers organization, even if he does not like general manager Brian Gutekunst.

But, more than that, Rodgers cares even more about his own legacy. He witnessed first hand how the fanbase responded when Favre went to the Vikings, and how unpopular his predecessor became.

While the relationship between Favre and the Packers organization was repaired with time, it is not likely something that Rodgers wants to put himself and his pride through.

Green Bay Notre Dame star senior running back Christian Collins is the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association Large School offensive player of the year in all-state awards released Tuesday.

Collins has rushed for 300 or more yards in four of the last five games and became the seventh player in state history with 6,000 career rushing yards after he put up 339 yards and five touchdowns in a WIAA state semifinal game against La Crosse Logan on Friday.

He has 2,676 yards this season despite missing two games, which is the 15th best single-season performance in state history, and he is just 20 yards shy of winning his second consecutive state rushing title heading into Friday's state championship game.

Other area players named to the all-state team on offense include Bay Port senior offensive lineman Alex Warden, West De Pere junior quarterback Patrick Greisen, West De Pere senior wide receiver Brock Story, and Notre Dame senior tight end James Flanigan.

De Pere senior defensive back Carter Kaufmann was named to the all-state team on defense.
