Kyle and Travis York of York Real Estate invested more than $6 million in the project, which they hope will turn this once industrial space – the former Lew A. Cummings Building – into a modern gathering place.
“In the next five years, we envision a downtown that continues to thrive and expand,” says Manchester Mayor Jay Ruais. “With more housing units coming online, we expect to see even greater success for our bars, restaurants, theaters, SNHU Arena and Fisher Cats baseball stadium. Retail shops will be a key addition to the downtown mix, providing more options for residents and visitors alike.”
Ruais adds that Manchester expanded its downtown retail scene over the last year with additions like the Dew Collective, a flower shop offering handmade and custom designs, and Peridot Boutique, which sells clothing, accessories and beauty products. Plus, advancements continue to take place in the Historic Millyard, a former 19th century industrial mill complex.
“The historic Millyard District will continue to grow as a high-tech hub driven by the regenerative science industry led by the Advanced Regenerative Manufacturing Institute (ARMI),” Ruais says. “This economic initiative promises to bring new residents, jobs, businesses and visitors, which will make our downtown even more vibrant. The opportunities for growth, engagement and development are truly endless.”

She says the city’s population growth will support job creation, enhance consumer spending and contribute to the city’s tax base, strengthening the city’s overall economic foundation.
“I anticipate the current and upcoming residential projects in Manchester will have a substantial and positive impact on our local economy and businesses,” Nazaka says. “With more housing options becoming available, we expect to see an influx of new residents, driving demand for local goods and services. This will benefit a wide range of businesses, including retail, dining, entertainment and health care, all of which will experience increased consumer activity.”
