When it comes to buying purebred puppies, there are a lot of breeds and questions to consider. Do you want an outdoor pup or one that spends its time indoors? Are you looking for a tiny dog you can take with you everywhere or a larger breed you can lay with on the couch? Of all the purebred puppies to choose from, none are quite like the English bulldog. Their sourmug face might not be for everyone, but if your ideal version of man's best friend is a snorty, stocky ball of wrinkles that loves to lounge, a bulldog could be perfect for you.
Bulldogs are beloved for their unique looks and charming personalities. They have strong reputations for being loyal companions, making them incredibly popular for families and individuals alike. There's just something about their squishy face and bowling ball body that makes you want to love and cuddle them forever. Unfortunately, finding a purebred English bulldog from your local shelter is like searching for a needle in a haystack. When you factor in the fact that many English bulldog breeders are less-than-reputable, finding the right bulldog puppies for adoption in Wilmington, NC can be challenging.
If you've been searching high and low for purebred English bulldog puppies from a responsible breeder, don't give up hope. Your search may be coming to an end sooner than you think with the help of IrresistiBulls.
IrresistiBulls was born out of love for the English bulldog who first graced our world, Bruiser. It became our mission to spread the joy he afforded us to families around the nation. We pride ourselves on being more than just breeders; we're a lifelong support system for our families. Unlike many competitors, we stay in touch with each family that purchases from us. We make it a point to offer expert tips and tricks for any challenges that may arise, which can help save you time, money, and a trip to the vet.
At IrresistiBulls, breeding English bulldogs isn't just a career choice. It's a passion. When you welcome a bulldog pup from our program into your home, you're not just getting any dog - you're gaining a remarkable English bulldog with a documented lineage of health, intelligence, and obedience - as well as all the hallmark traits that make English bulldogs beloved. While our dogs come from champion lines, they're perfect for families, provide unconditional love, and will probably be your new dinner bell, too.
Our cherished bulldog, Bruiser, was a unique boy. He stood out from other dogs. Like Bruiser, IrresistiBulls stands out from other breeders because we base our breeding practices on science and careful consideration.
Our goal isn't just about selling English bulldog puppies. It's to ensure that every puppy we breed excels in health, temperament, intelligence, and obedience. We don't rely on trial and error, which often yields more errors than successes. Extensive research underpins our methods to guarantee the best possible outcomes. Our dedication extends not only to the families welcoming our puppies into their homes but also to the well-being and quality of life of the puppies themselves. That's the IrresistiBulls difference.
When it comes to longevity, health, temperament, and intelligence, it all starts with the dam and sire. That's why our English bulldog sires and dams are carefully selected for their excellence, champion bloodlines, and genetic traits. We're not your run-of-the-mill English bulldog breeders in South Carolina; we've perfected our method. We genuinely care and view every puppy we bring into the world as a part of our extended family. Each one of our dogs is truly the "cream of the crop," guaranteed to pass on greatness to their offspring.
Simply put, we truly care about our bulldogs and the families that build cherished memories with them. We're incredibly thankful to have worked with so many amazing clients who trust our process and value our commitment to the health and wellness of our bulldog pups. Our wonderful clients recommend their friends and family members to IrresistiBulls because we prioritize:
When you buy from IrresistiBulls, you can rest easy knowing you're getting the best of the best. We take pride in ethically breeding our puppies by using champion bloodlines from different parts of the world. By doing this, we reduce the chances of our puppies inheriting common health issues that can affect English bulldogs. Our puppies come from well-regarded show dog ancestry from countries like Ukraine, Spain, and Russia, to name a few.
We meticulously breed for highly coveted traits and take proactive measures to limit traits that can lead to health conditions in your puppy. Our efforts have successfully eliminated issues such as corkscrew tails and narrow nares, ensuring a worry-free experience for our puppies and their new families.
Breeding any dog, especially English bulldogs, poses health concerns. We make every effort to breed English bulldogs with the desirable genetic traits while working to eliminate those that could result in health problems. The key is to avoid breeding puppies that are closely related and could potentially have genetic abnormalities.
Unfortunately, some breeders are either irresponsible or lack an understanding of the complexities involved in producing healthy English bulldog lines. We only breed dogs with the best-quality lineages and never take unnecessary risks by breeding dogs with overly similar ancestry. This approach safeguards not only our business but also the well-being of the puppies and the families who welcome them into their homes.
When you bring one of our puppies for sale into your home, you become a permanent part of our extended family.
Our IrresistiBulls are usually reserved before the litter is even born. Securing a spot on our reservation list is essential once we confirm a pregnancy. While we strive to honor all reservations, sometimes we have to leave it to nature, so there are no guarantees regarding litter arrivals and viability. However, once you've reserved your new English bulldog puppy, we'll keep you informed every step of the way. As English bulldog lovers, we understand your excitement about welcoming a new addition to your family. That's why we do our best to minimize the uncertainties and challenges that can arise during the breeding process.

Buying English bulldog puppies for sale in Wilmington, NC is a joyful and exciting experience. Whether you're a single pup parent or have a family with children, you'll love your new bulldogs' affectionate, loyal nature and will laugh out loud at their quirky attitude. However, bringing a bulldog puppy home necessitates careful forethought and organization to guarantee a seamless adjustment for both you and your new furry pal. Keep these essential tips in mind when it's time to bring your bulldog puppy to your den.
Choose a cozy and secure spot in your home for your bulldog puppy to relax and feel at ease. You might want to opt for a crate or a puppy playpen to create a snug and den-like space for them.
Gather essential supplies such as water and food, nutritious and high-quality puppy food, a leash and a collar, bedding, chew toys, and grooming items. If you're worried about overdoing it, don't fret. It's better to be overprepared and have extra than to be underprepared and need more supplies.
It's important to get your home ready for your new bulldog puppies before they arrive. English bulldog pups are inquisitive by nature and love to play, so expect some high-energy bonding early on. Clear away any small objects that could be swallowed, hide electrical cords, and remove any toxic plants to keep them safe.
Bulldog puppies for adoption in Wilmington, NC from IrresistiBulls arrive at your home having had all the proper shots and worming medicines required. However, you should already have a follow-up visit scheduled with your vet before your new family member arrives. Doing so will help you and your vet get on the same page regarding deworming, vaccinations, and preventative healthcare plans.
In the first few days, weeks, and sometimes months, it can be challenging to adjust to having a new puppy at home. Puppies are quite complex, and just like with any newborn, having reliable guidance and essential tools isn't just a luxury - it alleviates stress and makes the process of welcoming and training the puppy much smoother. At IrresistiBulls, we offer a puppy starter kit to provide you with the necessary information on puppy care, the resources you may require along the way, and, of course, an assortment of toys to enrich the bonding experience with your new furry friend.
During the initial days following the arrival of your bulldog puppy, it's essential to focus on establishing a nurturing environment and a consistent routine to build a strong bond. Here are some helpful tips to help your puppy settle in smoothly.
If there's one thing bulldogs thrive on (besides nutritious, yummy food), it's a routine. After you've been with your new bulldog puppy for a few days, try creating a schedule. Plan out time for eating, bathroom breaks, training, and playing. We should note that it's important to create a schedule that can be incorporated into your family's routine. You don't need to rearrange your life, but you will need to cater to your new doggo to an extent.
If you had to move to a new home when you were very young, you probably have an idea how a bulldog puppy would feel, too. It can be overwhelming - not just for your bulldog, but for you too. That's why you should try to be as patient and calm as possible while your new addition gets acclimated to their new surroundings.
Whether you're an experienced dog owner or a newcomer, bringing your puppy into their new home should be nothing but a joyful occasion. At IrresistiBulls, we're happy to help make sure you don't go home in a tizzy. That way, you can focus on spending time with your bulldog puppy and creating a loving home from day one.
Bulldogs are undeniably one of the most adored dog breeds in the world. Their wrinkled faces, stocky bods, and fun personalities have endeared them to dog lovers everywhere. Have you ever met an English bulldog owner who didn't love their pup? We haven't. If you're still on the fence about buying a bulldog puppy for you or your family, you may want to re-think that stance after reading these reasons.
Like, seriously adorable. The wrinkles. The jowls. The saggy eyes. Bulldogs epitomize "Aww, how cute!" especially when they're young. There's just something about grabbing a big wrinkly head and planting a huge kiss right in the middle.
Generally speaking, bulldogs are great pets for kids. That's because they're incredibly calm, fiercely devoted, and, well, lazy. A screaming, tugging child doesn't faze them. They'll even let little ones dress them in cowboy hats and tutus without batting an eye.
Owning a bulldog means there's rarely a dull moment in your home. Whether they're snoring so loud it puts your sleep apnea to shame or interrupting your thoughts with a little flatulence, English bulldogs will make you smile even if you're in a bad mood.
Make no mistake - bulldogs must get exercise to remain healthy. However, when given the choice, many bulldogs would rather curl up on the couch with you than go for a multi-mile run.
If you think breeds like border collies get all the credit for being smart, think again. Have you ever seen a border collie ride a skateboard or surf a wave? Probably not - but bulldogs are known for such feats. That's due in part to their low center of gravity, but it's mostly because bulldogs are so cool.
When you trust IrresistiBulls as your bulldog puppy breeder, we believe it's our privilege and duty to provide you with a healthy, happy dog. Every English bulldog we ship in the U.S. is both a part of our beloved Bruiser and also a new part of your family's heart. At the end of the day, our goal is for you to discover your new companion, family mascot, or hot mess without having to worry about shady practices or inconvenient logistics.
We know you'll fall in love as soon as you lay eyes on your new IrresistiBull, just like we did when Bruiser blessed our lives. Contact our office today to learn more about what separates us from other breeders and how we can make your English bulldog ownership dreams come true.

SOUTHEASTERN N.C. — After rapidly intensifying from a Category 1 hurricane to a 5 in only 24 hours, Milton is predicted to land on the west coast of Florida by Wednesday this week. Some aftereffects may be felt locally Thursday.
READ MORE: With $10M in storm damage, CB earmarks $800K for stormwater pump repairs, debris cleanup
“A more northern track closer to the coast would bring stronger winds, steady rain, and higher waves,” National Weather Service in Wilmington noted in a Monday update. “A more southern track would bring weaker winds, no rain, and lower peak wave heights.”
Hurricane Milton’s winds currently are 175 miles per hour as it spirals through the Gulf of Mexico, where waters of 85 degrees have added fuel to its endurance. Hurricane watches are in effect from Florida’s Steinhachee to Everglade City; forecasters predict it could be a direct hit to the densely populated Tampa area.
The hurricane is expected to decrease to a Category 4 before landfall. A 12-foot storm surge and up to a foot of rain can be expected in the Florida area.
“This is the real deal here with Milton,” Tampa Mayor Jane Castor said at a news conference. “If you want to take on Mother Nature, she wins 100% of the time.”
However, with a cold front moving through North Carolina, as of now Milton is anticipated to have minimal effect on the Tar Heel State — particularly good news for the western portion still reeling from the catastrophic damage caused by Helene almost two weeks ago.
Hurricane Helene came ashore in Florida’s Big Bend before moving north through Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia and killing roughly 230 people counted so far. Recovery efforts are still underway in the mountainous regions, which experienced severe landslides and towns being completely washed away.
The Florida governor ordered all debris from Helene be cleared before Milton comes ashore as to avoid projectiles. He also issued evacuation orders in Tampa Bay, which hasn’t seen a direct hit from a hurricane in a century.
Milton is projected to cross Florida and move into the Atlantic Ocean. Its outer bands could reach some southeastern North Carolina coastal towns.
This comes as Brunswick County and Carolina Beach took a beating from the unnamed potential tropical cyclone eight almost a month ago. It brought more than 20 inches of unexpected rainfall in 12 hours, also washing away and collapsing roads and flooding homes, leaving people stranded while trying to travel home from work or school.
Milton may bring some rain to the local region, but according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington it will result in high surf, rip currents, and beach erosion. By Thursday, waves could reach 6 to 10 feet in height, with marine conditions dangerous for swimming. Gusty winds may be felt and there will be minor coastal flooding.
NWS continues to monitor its track.

SOUTHEASTERN N.C. — Since Hurricane Helene made landfall two weeks ago and traveled through multiple states as a tropical storm, charities and nonprofits have come together in Western North Carolina to rebuild. Now, well-known musicians are also hosting shows that benefit the region.
Quite a few concerts for Helene relief are being held both locally and statewide to provide funding for communities suffering after severe landslides and once-in-a-century flooding. The storm’s more than two feet of rainfall impacted regions like Asheville, Boone, Swannanoa, Black Mountain and others, where homes were swept away, people are still missing and power and water outages continue en masse.
The storm has been called the third-deadliest of the 21st century, following 2005’s Katrina and 2017’s Maria. Some musicians already have begun donating to cleanup efforts, such as Morgan Wallen who has given $500,000 to help his native home of Tennessee, Dolly Parton’s $1 million to Mountain Ways Foundation and Miranda Lambert’s $100,000 to go to her MuttNation Foundation which helps people and pets affected by the storm.
Sturgill Simpson, Luke Combs, Eric Church, James Taylor, Billy Strings, Ben Folds, Lotus and others have also announced concerts statewide to help victims recover. Two shows are planned in Wilmington, with others taking place in Charlotte and Cary.
From Wilmington With Love: Ben Folds Greenfield Lake Amphitheater, 1941 Amphitheater Drive
After having played Greenfield Lake in July, Triad resident Ben Folds is returning to the stage on Oct. 29. The City of Wilmington announced the show, “From Wilmington, With Love,” to feature Folds, as well as other musicians and special guests, to be announced.
All of the proceeds from ticket sales will benefit local charities assisting with emergency food, housing, and home repairs via the North Carolina Disaster Relief Fund, managed by United Way of North Carolina.
Wilmington is no stranger to hurricane relief shows, as Lukas Nelson and Promise of the Reel came through in spring 2019 after Hurricane Florence caused billions in devastation to the southeastern corner of North Carolina. The show raised more than $65,000, with money going to area charities and nonprofit organizations such as Nourish NC, Salvation Army of Cape Fear, Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina at Wilmington, Good Shepherd Center, Cape Fearless Challenge, and The Harrelson Center.
Tickets go on sale here Oct. 8 at 10 a.m.
Lotus: How to Dream in ColorGreenfield Lake Amphitheater, 1941 Amphitheater Drive • Tickets: $35
Penguin 98.3 and Live Nation are hosting a fundraiser with Asheville-based band Lotus, who will perform at Greenfield Lake Amphitheater this week, Thursday, Oct. 10. All net proceeds will go to World Central Kitchen, an organization founded by celebrity chef José Andrés in 2010.
WCK deploys teams into areas facing natural disasters or war-torn countries to ensure no one faces hunger during stressful situations. It’s set up across western North Carolina, with distribution sites open to everyone — residents, first responders, construction and line workers.
Lotus is a five-piece instrumental band and blends funk, jazz, rock and disco. The band originally intended to perform at Salvage Station Asheville, which was demolished by Helene. Live Nation is presenting the band at Greenfield Lake Amphitheater, instead, on Thursday, Oct. 10.
Concert for Carolina: Luke Combs, Eric Church, Billy Strings, James Taylor Bank of America Stadium, 800 S. Mint St., Charlotte • Tickets on sale Oct. 10
When Helene wrecked WNC on Friday, Sept. 27, country artist and North Carolina native Luke Combs went on the record immediately expressing solace to all affected and said he was interested in hosting a lineup “to help the Carolinas.”
Monday he made the plans official: “Concert for Carolina” will take place on Saturday, Oct. 26, also featuring other North Carolina artists, Eric Church and James Taylor, as well as bluegrass prodigy Billy Strings, who has played the state numerous times over. The show will be hosted by Barstool Sports’ Caleb Pressley and ESPN’s Marty Smith.
Combs spent his youth in Huntersville, North Carolina, until his family moved to Asheville. He attended Appalachian State University in Boone, where in 2021 he first headlined a stadium show.
Taylor grew up in the Chapel Hill and briefly attended UNC — where his father was dean of the medical school — before moving to New York to pursue music. Church grew up in Granite Falls outside of Hickory before also attending App State. He recorded his most recent three-part LP, “Heart & Soul,” in Banner Elk and announced last week upon the release of latest single “Darkest Hour” that all publishing royalties would go to nonprofit donations to rebuild WNC.
All proceeds from Concert for Carolina tickets also will support Helene relief efforts in the Carolina region. Combs is donating half to Samaritan’s Purse, Manna Food Bank and Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC, among other organizations to be announced.
Church’s Chief Cares will take the other half, focused on helping established charities and organizations to expedite aid directly to the families affected by the storm.
Tickets are on sale Thursday, Oct. 10, at 10 a.m. here. Learn more about the concert and artists here.
Sturgill SimpsonCary’s Koka Booth Amphitheatre, • Tickets on sale Oct. 10-11
A neo-traditional country artist out of Kentucky is planting Tar Heel roots on Oct. 21 for a special benefit concert to support disaster relief initiatives statewide.
Sturgill Simpson originally was booked to play ExploreAsheville.com Arena that day, but had to move the show due to the storm’s catastrophic aftermath. Since he was scheduled to play Cary on Oct. 22, Sturgill decided to host two nights Koka Booth Amphitheater. Simpson’s Oct. 21 concert will benefit recovery efforts in WNC, with all proceeds donated to the North Carolina Disaster Relief Fund, managed by United Way of North Carolina.
The Oct. 22 show will continue per normal.
Tickets go on presale for Oct. 21 on Thursday, Oct. 10, 10 a.m., opening to the general public on Friday, Oct. 11, 10 a.m., here.

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) - The American Red Cross of North Carolina says it’s been inspiring to see such a large outpouring of support for people in Western North Carolina impacted by Hurricane Helene.
“We don’t want to discourage anyone from wanting to help,” communications director Mike Decinti said. “What’s going on in Western North Carolina is going to take months, if not years to recover from.”
However, Decinti says some types of donations are more convenient than others.
“As far as the Red Cross is concerned, the fastest and easiest way to help those in western North Carolina is to make a monetary donation,” Decinti said.
Besides monetary donations, he also says they need blood donations and more volunteers.
“We’ve had to cancel multiple blood drives as well as closed a few blood centers,” Decinti said. “Because of that, we haven’t been able to collect life-saving blood. So if you can find a blood drive in your area we encourage you to go out and donate blood.”
The Red Cross says it is not looking for donations of supplies right now. That’s because distributing those supplies is proving to be difficult at some times and impossible at other times.
“We are hearing words like ‘catastrophic’ and ‘unprecedented,’” Decinti said. “What we’re being told by not only local county and state officials is that these roads are very difficult to travel. We just do not have the manpower nor the supply to gather up goods and bring them where they need to go. If you want to help and go through the Red Cross to help us replenish our supplies and work within the infrastructure we already have in place, the fastest and best way to do that is to make a monetary donation.”
If you’re interested in donating, the Red Cross says you can call 1-800-HELPNOW or visit its website.
If you’re interested in volunteering, the Red Cross urges you to visit its website and click the “Volunteer” tab.
The organization has also set up a reunification website to help people try to get in touch with family members in western North Carolina. You can find that by visiting the Red Cross website and clicking the “Help” tab.
Decinti hopes the compassionate outpouring of support and help doesn’t stop anytime soon.
“We’re going to have to continue this for a long time,” Decinti said. “Unfortunately in today’s society, we have a short attention span. We can’t let this happen. I know people right now are very eager to help but they’re going to have to be eager to help months from now.”

If you live in the Wilmington area you most likely know about historic Oakdale Cemetery, the stately Wilmington National Cemetery and the sprawling Greenlawn Memorial Park.
But there are plenty of other cemeteries in the Wilmington area, many of them quite old, that you may or may not know about, ranging from the calm and peaceful to the overgrown and kinda creepy.
Here are five cemeteries of some local interest. For a list of many other Wilmington-area cemeteries not listed here, some of them small and hard to find, check the North Carolina Genealogy Resources website.
Cemetery in a wooded area off South 17th Street near the Scottish Rite Temple dates to the 19th century. Made up mostly of unmarked graves, about 75% of the 10,000 people thought to buried there are Black. It was protected from development by the New Hanover County Board of Commissioners in 2018. Oak Grove once famously had a grave topped by a bed frame that its inhabitant had been confined to for some two decades.
Oak Grove:Abandoned cemetery protected by New Hanover County
This cemetery in a wooded area near the entrance to Forest Hills Apartments contains the remains of mill workers (and their families) who worked at the Delgado Mills, later renamed Spofford Mills, that were located nearby. It is maintained by New Hanover County. At least one grave marker there is made of glass, and burials there were conducted until the early 1980s.
Burying grounds:Mill workers are buried at Delgado
Also known as John Hewlett Cemetery or the Hewlett Burying Grounds, this cemetery in a peaceful, gorgeous setting is located behind the church on Beasley Road. Masonboro Baptist date to the 1850s and some of the graves are quite old, but burials are still conducted here.
Located in Maides Park off Manly Avenue, this cemetery for Blacks had fallen into disrepair and gotten overgrown, but it's gotten some upkeep and tender loving care in recent years thanks to the efforts of the Historic Wilmington Foundation, researchers from the University of North Carolina Wilmington and other groups.
Gone but not forgotten:What's being done to save NC's historic cemeteries
Located next to Federal Point Cemetery deep in the woods off Dow Road in Carolina Beach, this is the final resting place of Robert E. Harrill, better known as the Hermit of Fort Fisher, who gained fame for living in the sandy tidal marshes nearby for decades. People still come by to put shells on his grave, or place change or trinkets in his frying pan.
